Russia won the Eurovision!

The little goth kid will be thrilled. They had an ice skater you know. However the interval entertainment left a WHOLE lot to be desired. So, because I'm as Irish as Dairygold, I think I will congratulate Russia on their win-the Ukraine were also robbed- but also show the BEST interval act that ever existed in the history of the Eurovision Song Contest. Just listen to the the little pause in the crowd.

Maybe now he'll be able to afford a pair of shoes, poor lamb.

The stage looked like it was on gas mark 2 with all these wee blue flamey things around it.

Mind you the wee blue flamey things could have been the Estonians.

I miss Eurovision.

He was his usual delightful snarky self, but he made a few pointed quips towards the end, mostly to do with the UK not getting many points and whether or not he or the BBC chap could be bothered doing the show next year. He will of course, the old hooch hound.

it must have been a real experience of a lifetime to witness that first performance of River Dance. Still makes the hair on the neck stand up

When did the aesthetic rule come into play that every woman in Irish dance needs tightly curled hair? Why is that uniform?

I suppose it's that Irish Colleen look they're going for. Jean Butler's hairs is pretty straight I think. I'd be more perturbed by old Lord's of the Dances's bouffant.

I did indeed catch it, and riveting heroic stuff it was. An Irish team that actually wins international competitions, not by luck or fluke but because they are the best.
