Britney Spears arrested and in hospital.

Britney Spears was detained last night by police after holding her own children, Sean Preston and Jayden James, hostage and refusing to hand them over to their father, Kevin Federline, at 7pm on Thursday night.

The police arrived shortly thereafter and threatened to arrest Spears if she did not return the children, after a further stand off an intoxicated Spears eventually capitulated to their demands and the two babies, Sean And Jayden were released.

The Mail reported...

'Federline's lawyer Mark Kaplan also arrived at the house around 8pm but left a short time later.
But despite efforts to talk Britney round she refused to give up the kids and is believed to have barricaded herself up in the house.
By 11pm there were five police cars, the fire department and paramedics at the mansion with a police helicopter hovering overhead."

An ambulance was called for Britney after she collapsed, and she was brought to Cedars Sinai Medical Center in LA where she is undergoing tests to determine if she is under the influence of drugs. A dazed but conscious Britney was then then admitted.
This is on the back of another fucked up week for Britney, in where she missed another court appointment, had her legal team quit over her outrageous behaviour, and slept with a married tabloid journalist.

Is anyone surprised it was going to come to this? Not me, I"m only surprised it took this long. This girl has been riding the coat tails of all out madness for more than a year now. All the sign were blatant and right out in the open, the car crashes, the head shaving, the umbrella attack, the constant attempts to garner attention, the terrible award show where she looked dazed and uncomfortable. Shit, this is all that girl has left.
You know, I do sort of feel sorry for her, she was a child star, and while I know lots of other child stars manage the crossover successfully I believe many of them came from a secure background, with tight bonds and good managers.
Britney's sinking fast. And unless the public want another Anna Nicole on our hands- and I personally don't- then her people, whoever they are, need to get her serious help.
(although it is like watching a particularly slow train wreck)

I don't think she really has any people besides her sycophantic jackal friends and her messed up family. She's a gift to K-Feds lawyers and the truly sad thing is she's going to get herself prohibited from access to her children. The girl needs a parent herself, poor bloody sod.

I wonder what the situation with her pappy is? You never hear anything about him. The mother's poisonous and a complete enabler.

I do feel sorry for the girl. I blogged about a study on the lives and deaths of pop and rock stars back in September. Makes scary reading when you look at Brit.

You know what I did notice though in some of the footage, I think, apart form the ambulance there were 6 squad cars escorting her to the hospital, 6! I wonder were there any other victims of crimes in LA last night that had to wait for even 1 to turn up.

K-Fed is only after her money the shit. I think the girl has some sort of bipolar disorder, I feel bad for her people are only interested in entertainment value, nobody seems to be helping her.

K-Fed may be only after her money but by all accounts he has been the better parent in this fiasco, and that's not something I ever thought I'd type.
Docky, I just read that, interesting and a little scary.

"Hello, 911? Theres a very scary man in my house threatening to rape me and I need a squad car please. Also if it isn't too much trouble I might need an ambulance as well as I am bleeding quite heavily...
What do you mean there's none available?...
Oh, if its for Britney going a bit loopy then thats ok. Erm... bye".

The media would cause havoc if the police were not there. Don’t know about him being the better parent he is probably just more calculating which is probably just as bad if not worse. It pisses me off seeing little nippers used as leverage, poor little pets.

I don't expect this story to end well, I'm afraid. No one seems to care for her and she is clearly suffering from addiction and mental collapse.

What a mess. I'll say it again - this kid was too young for any of this shit.

And when I put myself in her shoes, the picture is just as bleak. If someone had given me that fame and money at 17, and then I'd been surrounded by yes-men and sycophants like she has - I'd probably be dead now. Not sure I'd have been married so young or had kids with a loser like Federline, because I simply didn't grow up in this sexually charged time and arena, but yeesh. Alcohol and speed would have done the trick right quick.

Stories like this make me grateful for my obscure little life of college, work, and 9 to 5 mediocrity.

Maybe this will be her wake up call. Maybe this will shake her out of whatever funk she has allowed herself to slip into. If not she will lose custody of those children forever.

On an unrelated note, running in wind and rain can seriously dampen a gal's mood. However my coat, bestowal of the VINDERFUL Miss Finn, is totally and utterly waterproof! Unfortunately the rest of me is not, so excuse me while I go stand under a hot shower and shiver my blood back to the surface.
(yes I did sit down here straight after coming back in, I had no choice my email was pinging)
